Black Friday, step one: Before you actually start

Start your preparations for Black Friday with a detailed plan. Answer the following questions:

  • What products will be promoted?
  • What level of discounts will you apply?
  • How will you notify customers about the Black Friday promotion?
  • Does your e-shop require preparation to handle increased traffic?
  • Do you have adequate human resources to handle the promotional campaign?

Make sure you have a sufficient number of selected products in your warehouse and that the supplier will be able to provide missing items if needed. The selection of the range covered by the promotion should result from your current market observations and purchasing trends as well as the adopted business strategy. All decisions you make must be in line with your pricing policy and although you can count on a larger number of orders during this period, do not forget to recalculate the profitability of this venture.
