Understanding complex queries (Q)

Automatic product filtering based on the entered query. It can be turned off if the number of filters is low, e.g. ‘adidas XL green winter jacket matched to filters such as Colour, Product type, Brand, Size, if such filters exist on the site.

Filtering results: basic

Narrowing search result list down by filtering. Filters are created automatically based on the phrases entered by the user. Filtering by first order category and price.

Linguistic variation

Finding products whose descriptions use a different form of the word entered in the search engine, e.g. wood – wooden.

Error recognition in entered phrases

The ability to search and find products despite typos made by the user.

Synonym support

Synonim support (including its own and industry-specific synonyms) and treating them as related queries (words and phrases). Functionality management from the panel level.

Advanced search engine results page

Presenting search results on a dedicated subpage with the option of paging the results, sorting them (by default, by price, by name and by other selected criteria) and filtering them by a nested list of categories (three levels), price and other selected attributes (if available in the xml product catalogue).

Autocomplete

The product search window which quickly generates query hints on an ongoing basis, while enabling a user to go to the full page of search results; placed on all or selected subpages.
